Our Annual WTAAA Hall of Fame induction dinner at Woodbridge Community Center will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025. The program begins at 5PM (doors open at 4PM). Dinner ticket reservations are $60 per guest. Check payment can be made and mailed to:

The WTAAA is accepting sponsorship business ads to support our scholarship drive. Full page ads are $300. Half page ads are $175. Business card ads are $ 50. Hard copy  ads may be sent to the address above. Digital ads may go directly  to artdept@smprinting.com. Sponsor ads will appear in our dinner booklets. The booklets will then be posted forever on our website at wtaaanj.org and reach many readers. Our phone number is listed on the website if you have questions.

The 19th Hall of Fame Induction Dinner was held October 8, 2023 at the Woodbridge Community Center beginning at 5:00pm.


2022 WTAAA Hall of Fame Announcement

The 18th Hall of Fame Induction Dinner was held on October 9, 2022 at the Woodbridge Community Center. Our Special Guest of Honor is Sandra Schmidtke.

Due to the pandemic, there was no induction in 2020 or 2021.


2019 WTAAA Hall of Fame Announcement

The Woodbridge Township Athletic Alumni Association (WTAAA) is pleased to announce the 2019 Hall of Fame Class on July 22, 2019. 

The special guest of honor will be Coach Herb Hollowell. Herb graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1953 where he was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball and track and field. He earned a four-year track and field scholarship to Penn State University and participated there. He returned to WHS as physical education teacher, assistant football coach, and track and field coach. With coach Lou Bartha, Herb produced many talented athletes and championship teams at WHS. When JFK opened in September, 1964, he moved there to develop the track and field program into a championship contender with state caliber athletes and assist with football.

From Colonia High School:

The 1974 football team won the first football championship in CHS history (The Middlesex County Athletic Conference- MCAC) and played in the first Central Jersey Group 1V playoff title game down in Atlantic City. 

From John F. Kennedy Memorial High School:

Coach Bob Bingham, track and field; Dr. Robert Burlage, cross country, track and field; David Cassella, baseball, basketball; Ann Cyrana, soccer, basketball, softball; Frank Ruggiero, football, baseball; and the 1970 boys winter track and field team coached by Herb Hollowell. Assistant coaches were Gary White and Ron Osborne. Team members included Bryan Anderson, co-captain, Steve Burricelli, Al Campana, Paul and Steve Ricciardi, co-captain, Gary Albretsen, Ed Bobal, Tom Burke,Bob Caleca, Charlie Carroll, Jeff Fleischer, Tom “ Skip” Garley, Tom Geoffroy, John Howard, Doug Jepsen, Kevin Loder, Don Maurath, Jim McDonald, co-captain, James McIntyre, Rick Mears, Bill Miller, Mike Knoth, Mike O’Brien, Dan Osborne, Allen Scott, Barry Shandalow, John Smyth,, Craig Wood, Walt Rezmerski, Joe Seickel, John Farrell, M. Beer, Frank Benevento, Bob Bergondo, Gerry Cherepanya, Robert Collinson, Lee Derick, John Kennedy, Paul Lata, Joe Oliver, Andy Pytel, Jerry Retkwa, and Fred Yell. The 1970 JFK winter track and field team finished undefeated, 11-0, in dual meets. The team was co-champions (with St. Joseph) in the Middlesex County Athletic Conference meet and won the Greater Jersey Conference Relays. They also finished in 2nd place at the N.J. State Group 3 championship meet and in 3rd place at the University of Pennsylvania Spike Shoe Meet. 

From Woodbridge High School:

Ed Etzold,basketball; Keith Hemmings, football, basketball; Carrie Huzar Brown,tennis, softball; John W. Novak Jr., soccer, wrestling; Ed Paladino, wrestling; and Brian Russo, football, wrestling. The committee elected six individual athletes, but a team was not elected.

The WTAAA has selected another strong class. It is highlighted by two championship teams, numerous all county stars, all staters, and collegiate athletes from the ‘70’s, ‘80’s and ‘90’s.  In many cases, addresses are still needed. Please post on your face book and other social media sites. If you have contact information for inductees from the three schools, you may call 732-236-8224.

The 17th WTAAA Hall of Fame Induction Dinner will be held on Sunday, October 13th at5:00pm, (pictures begin at 4:00pm) at the Woodbridge Community Center on Main Street. The dinner would be a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends, coaches, and team mates. The cost for the dinner is $50.00. Children under twelve are free. Request for tickets may be forwarded to Woodbridge Township Athletic Alumni Association, c/o Woodbridge Recreation Department, 600 Main Street, Woodbridge, N.J. 07095. Payment may be made to WTAAA. Ticket reservations will be held at the welcome table. Tickets may be purchased at the door on a cash only basis. Last year, over 220 people attended the dinner. Individual and team inductees are invited to participate in pre-game on the field introductions prior to the JFK at WHS and St. Joseph at Colonia High School football games on Friday night, October 11, beginning at 6:30 pm. 

The WTAAA is accepting sponsorship business “ads” to support our color program booklet. Full page is $300.00. Half page is $175.00. Business cards are $50.00. Boosters are $20.00 for 90 characters and $10.00 for 45 characters. Please type your sentence in WORD. Payment may be made to the WTAAA and forwarded to the above address on Main Street. Digital “ads” may be submitted directly to artdept@smprinting.com. “Ads” must be camera ready in PDF or JPEG. Hard copy “ads” may be sent to the above address on Main Street. If you prefer to donate to our “scholarship only “account without the ad, it is an option. Just write “scholarship only” in the memo section of your check.

We look forward to seeing many Woodbridge Township sports fans and alumni from Colonia High School, JFK Memorial, and Woodbridge High School at the 2019 Hall of Fame Induction Dinner.


 17th Hall of Fame Induction Dinner

The 17th Hall of Fame Induction Dinner will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at the Woodbridge Community Center beginning at 4:00 pm.

Dinner tickets are $ 50.00 per person. Checks are made payable to the WTAAA. Individual inductees will be our guests. Tickets are not mailed but kept at the welcome tables according to the school of interest.

Individual inductees as well as team inductees are invited to football games on Friday night, October 11, 2019. The games are JFK at Woodbridge and St. Joseph at Colonia.  Kick-off is 7 :00 pm, but inductees should be at the field gate by 6:30 pm. Families are welcome on the field too.
